How special that you have the family relationship. We have a more distant connection with the famous soprano. An uncle of my mother-in-law was a tenor at about the same time as Solomiya (1852-1922) making him my children’s great-great uncle. He also sang in most of the European opera houses but more remarkable is that he and Solomiya performed together on occasion. The tenor’s name is Oleksandr Myshuha. He was also born in a small village Novyi Vitkiv. You are lucky because you have so many recordings to hear the famous soprano whereas we only have 2 and they are not very good.
