Hello. I am trying to trace the location of ''Bialy Las'' in Galicia where my wife's uncle, Boleslaw Bresler from a village near Wielun, about 100 km to the east of what is now Wroclaw, fell with many thousands of other Wehrmacht soldiers on 20th July 1944. We assume it was in the ''Brody Cauldron'' and part of the Lwow-Sandomierz Operation.
The Ukrainian State Archive has been unable to help. I found your item on Wikipedia and wonder if you have any information.
Best wishes,
Richard and Amy Byrtus (nee Bresler)
